Free 75th anniversary publication explores history and future of SEG and geophysics
In celebration of its 75th anniversary, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists has published a supplement to THE LEADING EDGE featuring articles about the history and future of both the society and the science.
The publication — SEG@75: Imaging the Past, Present, and Future — is available in THE LEADING EDGE site within the SEG Digital Library. This special publication is a birthday present SEG is giving itself, and the society wants to share it with the rest of the world. So, the all articles will be free indefinitely.
Authors expert in their field have contributed articles on advances and future directions in seismic acquisition, seismic data processing, gravity and magnetics, electrical and electromagnetic methods, geophysical interpretation, near-surface geophysics, and reservoir geophysics. Other articles include a summary of SEG history, a collection of observations by past SEG presidents, a financial history of SEG, and a history of SEG globalization.
