IET Systems Biology (formerly IEE Proceedings – Systems Biology)

Scope

IET Systems Biology (formerly IEE Proceedings Systems Biology) covers intra- and inter-cellular dynamics, using systems- and signal-oriented approaches. Papers that analyse genomic data in order to identify variables and basic relationships between them are considered if the results provide a basis for mathematical modelling and simulation of cellular dynamics. Manuscripts on molecular and cell biological studies are encouraged if the aim is a systems approach to dynamic interactions within and between cells.

  • Genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, cells, tissue and the physiome
  • Molecular and cellular interactions; gene, cell and protein function
  • Networks and pathways
  • Metabolism and cell signalling
  • Dynamics, regulation and control
  • Systems, signals, and information
  • Experimental data analysis
  • Mathematical modelling, simulation and theoretical analysis
  • Biological modelling, simulation, prediction and control
  • Methodologies, databases, tools and algorithms for modelling and simulation

Citing this Journal
IET Systems Biology is usually cited by the abbreviated title ‘IET Syst Biol.’ Every article in this journal is assigned a Crossref DOI, which is displayed below the article abstract.

News

IET Systems Biology is very pleased to be supporting the following events, taking place in 2007. The best expanded papers from each event will be published in dedicated Special Issues to appear in 2008:

Special Issues to be published in 2007

Selected papers from ICCSB 2006 held in Shanghai, China, July 20-23, 2006

Author and Reader Benefits

  • an impressive first impact factor in 2006 (1.955)
  • rapid times to decision (typically less than 10 weeks)
  • coverage in all major databases (including Inspec, NIH’s Medline/PubMed and Thomson’s Science Citation Index Expanded)
  • online publication in advance of printed publication
  • review/survey papers now freely available online for 2 years from publication

The IET Research Journals are available in print and online in advance of printed publication on the IET Digital Library. To access the full-text of articles for this journal, you will need a valid subscription to the IET Digital Library, or you can purchase individual articles by clicking the ‘Buy’ button. The IET Research Journals are also available as part of the IEEE/IET Electronic Library (IEL).

Previous titles

This journal was originally published in June 2004 as Systems Biology. After volumes 1 and 2 (a total of 3 issues), it was incorporated into the IEE Proceedings suite of journals in June 2005 as IEE Proceedings Systems Biology. The volume number changed to Volume 152, in line with the other IEE Proceedings titles.

Following the merger on March 31st 2006 between the IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) and the IIE (The Institution of Incorporated Engineers) to form the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the IEE Proceedings suite of journals have changed name for 2007 to reflect the fact that they are now published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. IET Systems Biology (formerly IEE Proceedings Systems Biology) starts from Volume 1, Issue 1 from January 2007 onwards. All other benefits of publishing in the journal, including our worldwide readership and database coverage, remain unchanged.

Online subscribers to IET Systems Biology can also access all backfile issues of IEE Proceedings Systems Biology and Systems Biology from 2004-2006 as part of their current online subscription.
