IET Magazines

Engineering & Technology is the IET's flagship magazine featuring analysis, news, innovation announcements, job advertisements and careers advice. The coverage is wide and aimed at professionals in all areas of engineering and technology including the key industry sectors of communications, control and automation, electronics, management, IT, manufacturing and power.

As Engineering & Technology expanded at the beginning of 2008, the following IET Magazines ceased publication at the end of 2007:

  • Communications Engineer
  • Computing and Control Engineering*
  • Electronics Systems and Software**
  • Engineering Management
  • Information Professional
  • Manufacturing Engineer***
  • Power Engineer

By including the content of these magazines within the new enlarged format and increasing the frequency with which we report on these important industry sectors, Engineering & Technology provides more up-to-date and in-depth coverage. Readers also have access to a broader range of material without having to order/access copies of additional IET magazines.

The IET Digital Library will continue to host backfile issues of all ceased magazine titles with content available from 1994-2007 (where available). Subscribers to the IET Digital Library Complete Publications Package or the online version of Engineering & Technology will also be able to get full access to all magazine content from 1994 onwards. The available online backfile for all ceased magazine titles is detailed as follows:

IET Members can freely download PDFs from recent issues of Engineering & Technology via the Engineering & Technology area of the IET website.

Journal Archive Digitisation

The IET has digitised its entire journals archive from the start of IEE publications in 1872 up to 1993. The complete journals archive is now available on the IET Digital Library. Access to magazine content prior to 1994 is included as part of the journals archive.
