Journals
All IEE journals are now published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a new institution formed by the joining together of the IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) and the IIE (The Institution of Incorporated Engineers). The IET is the inheritor of the IEE brand, products and services.
The IET Journals are refereed publications reporting research and technical developments in many fields of engineering.
Electronics Letters is widely recognised as being the leading journal in its field for rapid publication of short international research papers at the cutting edge of electronics technology. All issues of Electronics Letters are now available on the IET Digital Library from volume 1, issue 1, published in March 1965 through to the very latest issues published during 2009.
Micro & Nano Letters is an online only journal launched in 2006. Micro & Nano Letters specialises in the express publication of short research papers concentrating on the latest advances in the science, engineering, technology and applications of miniature and ultraminiature structures and systems that have at least one dimension ranging from a few tens of micrometers to a few nanometers. The journal offers a rapid route for international dissemination of high quality research findings generated by researchers from both the micro and nano communities.
IET Research Journals (formerly IEE Proceedings) are published under 20 titles containing current, original contributions in electrical, electronics, computing, control and communications technology. IET Research Journals are available on the IET Digital Library with a backfile from 1994 to the present.
Publication Frequency Increases for 2010
As part of its ongoing commitment to authors and subscribers, the IET is pleased to announce the following publication frequency increases from 2010 onwards:
- Micro & Nano Letters - 4 issues to 6 issues a year
- IET Communications - 12 issues to 18 issues a year
- IET Electric Power Applications - 6 issues to 9 issues a year
- IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation - 8 issues to 12 issues a year
- IET Renewable Power Generation - 4 issues to 6 issues a year
Recently Launched
IET Power Electronics - resulting from the continued success of IET Electric Power Applications, the IET launched a new title dedicated to the burgeoning field of power electronics in 2008. This journal focuses on all aspects of research and development in areas such as power electronics applications; circuits; devices; techniques; and the performance managament of power systems.
Journal Archive Digitisation
The IET is currently digitising its entire journal archive from the start of IEE publications in 1872 up to 1993.
The IEE first published a journal in 1872, just one year after its foundation as the Society of Telegraph Engineers. In the 1980s, the IEE merged with the 'Institution of Electronic and Radio Engineers' and with the 'Institution of Manufacturing Engineers', so the project involves the digitization of these Institutions journals too. While the institution has access to most volumes of these journals, there are a few volumes that are missing from its collection. If you feel that you would be able to help locate any of these missing copies, please do contact us.
As part of this digitisation project, all issues of Electronics Letters from 1965-1993 are now available on the IET Digital Library. Electronics Letters, Volume 1 Issue 1 from March 1965 is available to access for free including the full-text PDFs.
The complete journal archive will be made available on the IET Digital Library during 2010.
